Brazil School Implements Palm Vein Recognition for Student Attendance and Payment

Mục lục

HFSecurity recently supported a school project in Brazil with an integrated biometric solution designed to connect student attendance, campus meal payments, and parent communication.

For this project, the school adopted HFSecurity’s PA15 palm vein recognition terminal and integrated it into its own student attendance management system using the free SDK and API provided by HFSecurity. This allowed the customer’s development team to build biometric functions into its existing software and further develop applications based on the school’s specific requirements.

School Management Challenges

For schools, student attendance is closely connected with identity verification, campus services, and communication with parents. A biometric solution therefore needs to be convenient for daily use while providing reliable identity verification.

For this Brazilian school, one of the key requirements was to make student attendance simple and contactless. With many students using the attendance system throughout the school day, avoiding physical contact with shared equipment can provide a more convenient and hygienic experience.

Reliable identity verification was another important consideration. Palm vein recognition uses the unique vein patterns beneath the palm for biometric identification, making the biometric characteristics difficult to replicate. Combined with high recognition accuracy, this provides a reliable approach for student identity verification in daily school management.

The school also needed a solution that could be integrated with its existing software environment and adapted to its own application requirements.

Contactless Palm Vein Recognition for Student Attendance

As part of the project, the school deployed HFSecurity’s PA15 palm vein recognition device for student attendance.

Students can simply wave their hands in front of the palm vein recognition device to complete check-in and check-out. No physical contact with the device is required, making the attendance process convenient for students and staff while reducing contact with shared equipment.

Palm vein recognition also provides a reliable way to verify student identity. Since the technology identifies vein patterns beneath the palm rather than relying on easily transferable credentials, it is difficult to replicate and provides high recognition accuracy.

The customer integrated the palm vein recognition device into its own attendance management system using the free SDK and API provided by HFSecurity. This gave them the flexibility to incorporate biometric identification into their existing software and further develop functions based on the school’s specific requirements.

The device also offers flexible installation options for different campus environments, including wall-mounted and stand-based installation. Where required, the biometric device can also be integrated with turnstile systems, providing additional flexibility for campus entrance applications.

Palm Vein Solution for Brazilian Schools

Palm Vein Identification for School Meal Payments

The application extends beyond student attendance.

The customer also integrated palm vein identification into the school’s meal payment system. Students can use their palm vein identity as part of the cafeteria payment process, connecting biometric identification with the customer’s existing payment workflow.

This allows the same biometric identity to support another daily campus service while the customer maintains its own payment management process.

For schools, integrating identity verification with campus services can help simplify daily student operations and create a more connected management experience.

Free SDK & API Support for System Integration

System integration was an important part of this Brazil school project.

HFSecurity provides free SDK and API support for compatible biometric devices, allowing customers and system developers to integrate biometric identification into their own software platforms.

In this case, the customer used the SDK and API provided by HFSecurity to connect the PA15 with its own attendance management system and develop additional functions according to the school’s requirements.

The customer also developed its own mobile APP. Through its own system and APP, attendance information can be delivered to parents, allowing them to stay informed about their children’s attendance and campus status.

These APP-based communication and information delivery functions are developed by the customer as part of its own software ecosystem, rather than being built-in functions of the PA15.

Customized Hardware for the Customer

Beyond software integration, HFSecurity also supported the customer with hardware customization.

For this project, the customer customized the device with its own Logo and startup screen, creating a more consistent experience with its own brand and application system.

This reflects HFSecurity’s ability to support different project requirements through a combination of biometric hardware, software integration, and customization services.

One Solution, Multiple School Applications

This Brazil school case shows how biometric technology can be integrated into an existing education management environment to support multiple daily applications.

By combining palm vein recognition with the customer’s own software and application development, the project connects student identification, attendance, payment, and parent communication in a way that fits the school’s specific needs.

HFSecurity continues to support education projects with flexible biometric solutions that can be adapted to different system environments and application requirements.
